A couple of weeks ago I found myself hearing the ghost of fatherhood past as my son had a mental meltdown because he and I were getting demolished by my wife and daughter in arcade games.
Fathers who model a healthy lifestyle can have a powerful and positive impact on the development and health of their children.
“Over the past two decades, fathers have become more involved in all aspects of their children’s lives,” says Kenneth Braswell, National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC) Director.
“At some point in their life every man is vulnerable.”
On any given day in America, it is estimated that more than 1.7 million children under 18 years old have a parent incarcerated in a state (52%) or federal prison (63%)—91% of all incarcerated parents are fathers.
